STORM OVER AT WOODLANDS?

FOOTBALL Association of Zambia (FAZ) president Andrew Kamanga says the end of the deadlock at City of Lusaka FC is good for football development not only at Woodlands but Zambia as a whole.
Kamanga said a stable City of Lusaka Football Club was good for football development at the Woodlands-Chilenje based club and Zambia at large.
Kamanga said it would go a long way in developing soccer at the club level and the nation at large.
“It is nice to learn that controversial issues at Woodlands have come to pass. This is important because a stable City of Lusaka FC is good for football development at the Woodlands-Chilenje based club and Zambia at large,” said Kamanga
He said FAZ expressed happiness with the prevailing peace and stability obtaining at the Woodlands stadium Club.
Kamanga said this in a statement made available to the Sun Sports by FAZ communications manager Desmond Katongo.
Kamanga said that the end of the deadlock that engulfed the club in the last one year was significant to the development of football at the club and Zambia as a whole.
The FAZ president also expressed delight at the massive infrastructure development that had taken shape at the club.
He was confident that the 8,000 capacity stadium would be able to host some Super Division matches to be televised by the Super League official broadcast partner, SuperSport.
Lusaka Dynamos and NAPSA Stars are some of the super league teams that were earmarked to play their home matches at Woodlands stadium. Football House sources told the Sun Sport that last week, FAZ held a closed door meeting with City of Lusaka officials where the two parties discussed a wide range of development issues.
