With great female artistes like Cleo Ice Queen, Brisky and Bombshell on top of the Zambian hip hop ladder, there is a lot of motivation for budding girl rappers to join the game. Recently, Zambia music has seen more young and upcoming female rappers emerging to indicate that Zambian hip hop is here to stay. It is even more competitive for the male folks.

This week, another budding female hip hop artiste Candiwe has released a single and video of the song called ‘ Boza’.

This is the song in which she is advising people to always work hard and not believe the lies that life is easy.

“ I am telling people how hard working, consistent, focused they should be regardless of people not helping or supporting them. I am saying

believe in yourself, it’s okay if no one else does, don’t listen to their lies Ni Boza’,” she says.

‘Boza’ features Zed rap star Bobby East and was produced by Silent Erazer.

Born Mary Nkhata, Candiwe has so far done eight songs.

“ I am now working on my first album more details to be announced soon. I have worked with producers like Recore, Mzenga Man, Drew made the Beat, Skills, Silent, K Army and DigitalX,” she adds.

Artistes like Daev , Towela, Bobby East to mention a few are among the collaborations she has done.

“Banaku uza ati Life ili simple banakunama Boza,” is a line lifted from Candiwe’s song set to rule the airwaves.
