Policticians should not only visit churches when there are elections but should worship with citizens during the period when there are no campaigns, a Catholic priest of Nangoma Parish has said.

Father Rogers Matanda of Nangoma Catholic Parish has expressed worry that many politicians only visited churches during campaigns to solicit for votes.

Fr Matanda was delivering his homily in a mass attended by Citizens First President Harry Kalaba.

Fr Matanda commended Mr Kalaba for his consistency in congregating with fellow Christians even when there were no elections and encouraged him to continue with the same spirit.

He noted that Mr Kalaba had been visiting the parish every year and had even supported the choir with musical equipment.

And Fr Matanda said all politicians are welcome to worship with the church because they were fellow Christians and urged fall Christians to pray for their leaders.

And Mr Kalaba said as politicians there is need to always be available and it is for this reason that they will continue to congregate with Christians not just during elections.
