TWO consecutive defeats to Zesco United and NAPSA Stars have compelled the Nchanga Rangers FC Executive Committee to release head coach Aggrey Chiyangi and first assistant Rotson Kilambe.

According to a statement issued by Nchanga Rangers media officer Andrew Ukwimi, the club president Shapi Shachinda said Chiyangi and the executive agreed to separate mutually for the benefit of the club.

“We agreed following discussions with the two coaches that the right thing to do in the interest of the club is to separate mutually.

We respect both coaches and would like to thank them for their contribution to the club. We wish them well in their future endeavours,” Shachinda said.

Shachinda urged Nchanga Rangers fans to continue supporting the club to save it from relegation.

“The club encourages its supporters to continue providing unrelenting support to the team as we believe that the current situation will be salvaged,” he added.

After picking one point from a possible nine in the last three games, Nchanga Rangers are 14th on the Super League table with 36 points, one point above the relegation zone consisting of Nkwazi and Lumwana Radiants and the relegated duo of Chambishi and Buildcon.

Second assistant Ronald Mukosha will assume the role of interim head coach, the club said.

Mukosha will be assisted by Bob Banda, the goalkeeper trainer, physical trainer Mutambi Mtonga and Michael Mwape who has been elevated from the youth team.
