 52-year-old Lusaka City Council (LCC) legal assistant who allegedly tempered with the local authority’s critical banking data base has appeared in the Lusaka Magistrate court on two charges.

Jebran Zimba 51 of plot 27c /561 George Compound in Lusaka is facing two charges of unauthorized access to a critical data base and theft by public servant and appeared before Magistrate Jennifer Bwalya.

In the first count, Zulu is charged with unauthorized access to a critical data base, contrary to the Electronic communication and transaction Act number 21 of 2009 of the laws of Zambia.

It is alleged that between June 1, 2016 and January, 30, 2017, Zulu accessed the Lusaka city council banking system, data that is a critical data base.

In count two, Zimba is charged with theft by public servant allegedly committed between June 1, 2016 and January, 30, 2017.

He is alleged to have stolen K1,600 from his employers.

Zimba has denied the charges and the court has since set May 21, this year as date for commencement of trial.
