FIVE YOUTHS IN COURT FOR IMPERSONATING DEC OFFICERS

FIVE Lusaka youths are appearing in the Magistrate court facing various criminal offenses including forging a search warrant purportedly to have been signed by Deputy Chief Justice Michael Musonda.

In the first count, Lyson Ngoma 25, Ashley Sichimba 24, Kalata Musenge Chanda 26, Donald Chimase 28 and Nicholas Mwansa 25 all of Emmasdale are charged with attempted extortion by threats.

The five are alleged to have attempted to extort money amounting to K30,000 from Huang Lue between September 25 and October 5, last year.

In count two, the suspects are charged with personating a public officer after they allegedly falsely represent themselves as officers from the Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) and Zambia information and Communication Technology Authority (ZICTA). In count three Ngoma and Sichinga are charged with forging a judicial document, namely search warrant, purporting to show that it was genuinely issued and signed by the deputy justice Mr Michael Musonda when in fact not.

Ngoma in the last count is alleged to have fraudulently uttered a false document, namely a search warrant, to Mr Huang the managing director at Tato Auto Spares Limited.
