BAR owners must strictly adhere to the public health guidelines or risk facing the long hand of the law, the Lusaka city council (LCC) has warned

Council public health director, Edgar Mulwanda said it was sad that some bars and restaurant owners have taken advantage of the relaxed Covid 19 measures and are now operating full time.

Mr Mulwanda has warned that council would intensified patrols to restore law and order.

He said members of the public have not been helpful where adherence was concerned.

He said reducing chances of spreading the pandemic which is now more contagious was everyone’s personal responsibility.

Meanwhile, a snap check at Lusaka’s intercity bus terminus found very low to zero adherence to public health guidelines such as handwashing and masking up. And those spoken to expressed ignorance on the second wave of the Covid 19 pandemic-
