YOUTHS must stay away from criminal activities as they can land them in correctional facilities, Kasama Central Member of Parliament (MP) Kelvin Sampa has advised.

Mr Sampa charged that most of youths break the law, as a result of being in ‘bad company.’

He advised youths to resist peer pressure and instead engage in productive activities aimed at uplifting the livelihood.

Meanwhile, Mr Sampa called on inmates to be good ambassadors of peace, by teaching people to stay away from vices that could land them into correctional facilities.

He said once they are released from the correctional facilities, they should embark on life-changing programmes in communities and teach others to be good and responsible citizens.

He was speaking on when he donated assorted drinks to 370 inmates, at Kasama’s Milima Correctional Service, as a way of celebrating Christmas with them.

Mr Sampa was accompanied by youths from Kasama Youth Initiative.
