Meet Chuulu: artiste with ‘Taste’

Early this year, a budding artiste who is believed to have been working in the background for a long talk me emerged with a fast-spreading single dubbed ‘ Taste’. This was one song that dominated some of the top Zambian DJs playlists because of its uniqueness in shaping a different vibe to Zambian music. In no time, ‘ Taste’ relatable to the artiste Chuulu Mudenda who is musically called Chuulu.

Impressed with the success of his ‘ Taste’ single Chuulu is earger to give his all as he now prepares for a new album for 2021. He believes ‘ Taste’ has set a strong foundation for his future works and he is ready to conquer the music world.

Chuulu identifies himself as a mult-genres artiste working with  R&b Dancehall, Soul, Funk, Jazz, Blues, Rock, Pop, and Reggae. Not only is he a singer but also a songwriter and producer.

 Born in Lusaka Raised in Ndola, Mkushi, Chuulu began making music at a young age of 17 and performed in various musical venues. He  graduated from a high school at Mumbwa High School then moved to Lusaka to pursue a musical career and later had successful stints with all the record rebels that he worked for which among them include  Black out media, Game on Exclusive, Keibin Records (which was his first record rebel in 2008),Visual FX, The Universe studios and Major Sounds.

In 2012, he gained recognition by major sounds after lending vocals and co-writing the hooks for the songs at the studio.

Between 2013 to 2015, he got accepted at National Institute of Public Administration and pursued his course in Business Administration and now he is a Diploma holder.

During his school days, he did a few writings of tracks which saw the emergence of songs like the famous ‘Umoyo Wanga’, ‘Chinvwili Nvwili’, ‘One in a million’, ‘Ndegeta’ ft Kendee, ‘Forever she wants’ ft Tyce and  ‘Kuma Njnje’ featuring J.O.B which was produced at Dasim Music.

He is now set to release an album  come 2021 as  videos for two of his famous songs arw already buzzing on radio and in clubs. These singles are ‘BAR to BAR’ and ‘UMUNANDI’ which features the giants of the Zambian music industry, Yo maps, Kekero and T Sean.
