THE New Kazungula District Hospital has hosted over 350 truck drivers who were Covid-19 positive since the disease broke out.

Kazungula District Health Director, Chimuka Haankombo, said that currently, the institution was being used as an isolation centre for Covid-19.
Dr Haankombo said that since the outbreak of covid-19, the facility had looked after over 350 truck drivers who were Covid positive drivers and not necessarily patients.
He disclosed that in the last two days, the border has not recorded any positive case.
The district director of health was speaking when Health Minister, Chitalu Chilufya, toured the new hospital which is yet to be commissioned.
“This facility has a bed capacity of more 150 bed space but currently, we are only using part of it,” he said.
