Teenage pregnancies worry Luano district

TEENAGE pregnancy is reported to have been be on the increase in Luano District.
This came to light during the District Development Coordinating Committee DDCC meeting held in Luano.
Department of education district planning officer Elias Mukai reported to the meeting that the situation was bad in the district.
Mr. Mukai said despite making improvement in construction of classroom blocks and other infrastructures teenage pregnancy has continued.
Mr. Mukai further said it was sad the district had only managed to record only 41 percent as regard teenage pregnancy reduction.
“On the issue of reducing teenage pregnancy. We are sad to inform you that despite having made some improvement on the other side.
“But we only managed to record 41 percent which is not good because we still have our teenagers falling pregnant,” said Mr. Mukai.
And as regards water supply in the district, it was heard that Operations Eyesight Zambia repaired 32 defunct boreholes that were now functioning.
