STANBIC Bank Zambia has injected US$70 000 in super league side NAPSA Stars which will see the bank become a partner sponsor of the team.

Well coming the bank’s gesture, NAPSA director general Yollard Kachinda said football was an expensive sport to run which required concerted efforts from various stakeholders including business entities and supporters.

The ceremony also attracted attendance from club board chairman Zingani Phiri, Stanbic CEO Leina Gabaraane and Zambia super league chief executive officer Brian Mulenga.

Kachinda said US$70 000 was the initial investment from the bank but would be increased in 2020 to make Stanbic become the official sponsor for the soccer club.

He said the partnership could not come have come at a better time than now when Zambian football and NAPSA Football Club in particular was experiencing a major transformation.

Kachinda challenged the soccer club to transform the sponsorship into positive results which would see the side secure a champions league slot this coming season.

He further said the Club’s desire was to see the team become a permanent feature in the CAF champions League beginning next season.

He said NAPSA with its partners would endeavour to provide the required support to ensure that the club met its objective of playing in the champion’s league.

Gabaraane said his bank believed the club had what it takes to become champions.

He challenged the team to head to call from the board chairman Phiri for the team to aim at performing better and win the league.
