Chingliz nominated for Savannah comic awards (pictures)

Local stand up comedian Hurbert Mumba a.k.a Chingliz has been nominated for this year’s Savannah Comics Choice Awards set to take place in South Africa on September 7.

The comedian who is professionally an Engineer and the founder of Night of Laughter, has been given this chance owing to his active contribution to the industry.

Chingliz is nominated in the same category as Basket Mouth from Nigeria, Annie Kansime of Uganda, Long John of Zimbabwe and Alfred Kainga also from Zimbabwe.

“It is an honor to be among the best in Africa and this tells me I am headed towards something big. I will continue to work hard,” said Chingliz.

The comedian has had experience with a diverse audience from across Zambia, Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, America and other countries he has cracked ribs in.

Recently, he hosted a show dubbed ‘Approved Funny Comedy Special.

 The funny Civil Engineer turned comedian is hoping to get something out of this big recognition.

 This recognition is made to a comedian or comedy duo working outside South Africa but have contributed a lot to the elevation of comedy globally
