FAZ president Andrew Kamanga said the training would help remedy some of the concerns around officiating in the league games.

Kamanga said he was happy that his executive had continued to put training as a key component to football development.

He said it was very important to invest in training of referees owing to the fact that the rules of the game had kept changing and now with the coming of the Video Assistant Referee.

The FAZ president urged the referees to improve their performance in the upcoming 2019/20 season which starts on August 31.

Kamanga said the training would be extended to other areas of the game like coaches and administrators to ensure that conflicts were minimized.

He implored on the referees to embrace integrity in their work so that they got opportunities beyond the Zambian league.

And FIFA instructor Chom said refereeing was beyond just the laws of the game but also management.

He said that game management was very critical in successful refereeing.

The 32 match officials were tested and four of them failed the physical test.
