INVESTORS willing to put their money in North Western Province should seriously consider going into partnerships with locals, says Chief Ntambu of the Lunda people of Mwinilunga district.
Chief Ntambu was speaking ahead of the forthcoming North Western Province Investment Expo which will between August 18-24 under the theme ‘Unveiling the Hidden Treasures’.
The chief explained that anyone who wished to invest in his chiefdom must consider involving the local people unlike taking advantage of them.
He said the province was rich in minerals and other business ventures but that he would not accept any form of exploitation against his subjects.
The traditional leader said Mwinilunga in particular had the potential becoming an economic hub if the pineapple cultivation was properly invested in.
“I want to see development in the health, education services, road infrastructure and I don’t want to see investors who will come only to benefit themselves,” Chief Ntambu said.
He appealed to all would-be investors and those wanting to take part in the Expo to ensure that the local people were given priority in all areas.
