MEMBERS of public should refrain from having any illegal examination related documents which can land them in trouble, says Examination Council of Zambia (ECZ) director Michael Chilala

Mr Chilala said ECZ was on ground and ready to penalize people found wanting over the issue of examination leakages

He was commenting over the arrest of 10 people yesterday in Lusaka’s Matero who were found in possession of leaked examination question papers.

The arrested people were allegedly found with suspected examination question paper and ECZ seized their mobile phones which were used to receive suspected 2019 General Certificate of Education (GCE) examination question papers including some handwritten answers on pieces of paper among the other issues.

“We have announced that we are arresting people who will be found wanting and have being arresting people for the  past two months after following media stories and we want to let the public know that we are on top of the issue” Mr Chilala said.

Mr Chilala expressed his concern over examination question papers leakages and warned the public to desist from such acts.

He said those who were already in the act or planning to engage in that illegal business would be arrested without delay.
