ZAMBIA national team coach Aggrey Chiyangi has warned Botswana to expect a tough game when they visit Zambia for the return leg fixture of African Nations Championship CHAN qualifiers.

In an interview after Zambia was held to a goalless draw by the ‘Zebras’ at Francistown Sports Complex on Friday, Chiyangi said Zambia will fight to beat Botswana in the return leg set for August 3 at  the National Heroes Stadium to progress to the last qualifying round.

Chiyangi described the goalless stalemate against Botswana away from home as s positive result.

He said Botswana did not make it easy for them to collect a win because they had improved and were playing good football.

He said Zambia played well too despite having missed a number of chances which could have changed the outcome of the game if they were converted into goals.

He said the Chipolopolo will plan well for Saturday’s return leg fixture which will decide who will match on to the next round of the CHAN qualifiers.

“A draw is a good result because playing away from home, and collecting a draw is the least we expected,

“What we didn’t want was to lose this game. We couldn’t score but the most important thing is that we managed to hold them and going in to the return leg we just have to plan well for them,” Chiyangi said.

But Botswana national team coach Mogomotsi Mpote bragged that his charges could beat the Chipolopolo Boys at their home ground.

Mpote said his boys played well against the COSAFA champions despite coming from off season.

“Coming from off season and you manage to hold a team which is still active with their league is a positive result and if they can come here to collect a draw, we can also beat them at their home ground,” Mpote said.

Meanwhile, Zambia Sports Fans Association (ZASPOFA) patron Peter Makembo has hailed the Chipolopolo Boys for collecting a ‘positive’ result away from home.

Makembo however cautioned the Chiyangi’s boys to improve on their finishing as they prepared for the return leg to qualify for the 2020 CHAN to be held in Cameroon.
