Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) president Andrew Kamanga has lost out on the CAF Executive committee position for Southern Zone which has gone to Samier Sobha of Mauritius
Sobha sailed through with 38 Votes, Andrew Kamanga got 12 while Adam ‘Bomber’ Mthetwa (eSwatini) got 2.
Zimbabwean Felton Kamambo and Elvis Chetty of Seychelles fell by the wayside and pulled out of the race at just before it went to the ballot.
Kamanga was nominated a candidate for the position after having beaten his local rival Kalusha to the country’s nomination.
Former Faz president Kalusha Bwalya was the incumbent and was seeking re-election to the position he held since 2011.
The Zambian soccer icon could however not secure nomination from his former federation after it opted for its current president Andrew Kamanga.
