SUPER side NAPSA Stars has intensified its two week pre- season training ahead of the upcoming Zambia super league.

Coach Mohamed Fathy said he would use the six week pre- season period to beef his squad by adding a goalkeeper, defenders and strikers.

Fathy told Sun Sport that the midfield was okay but what was needed to be done was organizing the front line and the defensive which needed to be beefed up.

“I think we have to beef up our defence line ,and goalkeepers and front line, our midfield is okay but we have to look at our defence line,

“We allowed in a lot of goals last season especially that our opponents were coming from behind in the process, we recorded a lot of draws as well,” said Fathy

Fathy said Livingstone was a good outing for his team because it had many clubs that camped in the city due to the facilities that it had.

He said apart from the many teams, Livingstone’s proximity with neighboring Zimbabwe meant that teams from that country could be invited for friendlies.

“I think Livingstone is good environment and good town, a lot of clubs come here for the facilities also they have good teams here and we can invite one or two teams from Zimbabwe to come and play friendlies with us,

“We start training with this week which will be more physical and the next four weeks will be more about tactics, technicality to help our team study its best line in the league,” he said

The Egyptian born coach said he was looking forward to next season having managed to finish fifth in their stream in the just ended 2019 transitional season.

Fathy said having finished in the top five, his side was not far off from qualifying to continental football next season.
