‘We deserve it’ – Red Arrows Rugby Club says it is happy to lift the Rugby Union League (RUL) 7th title in a row

RED Arrows Rugby Club of Lusaka is pleased that is has beaten rivals Mufulira Leopards to clinch its Rugby Union League (RUL) 7th title in a row, says Coach Mwamba Chishimba.

Chishimba said that he owed the team’s victory to his players, supporters and the Zambia Air Force (ZAF) command for the support it had continued to render to the team.

Arrows beat Leopards 30-44 in a final league game played at the Mufulira Leopards Rugby club on Saturday to clinch its 7th consecutive title.

“Credit goes to the players for they worked wonders, we were unbeaten the whole season, and we are invincible,

“The same credit goes to our supporters. We would also like to thank the ZAF commander who has been so supportive because we received massive support from the command which really motivated the players,” Chishimba

Chishimba said that having won its seventh title, their objective was to continue dominating the league by winning the eighth title in next season.

He said that despite the battle being not being easy, his team had what it takes to retain the title next season.
