SHOULD ZAMBIAN TRULY COGITATE LEGAL DAGGA CULTIVATION?

IT is possible that some few African countries cannot be wrong for aiming to make money from the booming medicinal marijuana industry.
Why then should Zambia not follow suit and go into medicinal cultivation of dagga apart from the obvious enormous financial paybacks?
Initial medical evidence suggests that cannabis can reduce nausea and vomiting during chemotherapy and improve appetite in people with HIV/AIDS.
It can also reduce protracted pain and muscle spasms and treat severe forms of epilepsy although its short-term use increases the risk of minor and major adverse effects.
In Zambia the mere mention of dagga invokes the strong retentions from Green Party leader Peter Sinkamba who has interminably called on government to consider legal marijuana cultivation for medical purposes.
Mr Sinkamba believes Zambia could be poised to prosper in steadying and growing the country’s economy because of the various restructurings it is undertaking which should also consider legal cultivation of dagga
He strongly feels that Zambians have a mutual obligation to reverse the country’s debt challenges and grow the economy to accomplish the lasting good welfare of Zambians.
