ZAMBIAN soccer legend Kenneth ‘Bubble’ Malitoli has advised former Under-20 midfielder Boyd Musonda who was recently unveiled at Tunisian club Csfaxien to adhere to lifestyle of North Africa to achieve his dreams.

Malitoli who played for Esperance of Tunisia in the 90s said that the former Zanaco FC player would prosper at his new Tunisian side as long he adhered to the regime of North Africa.

He observed that majority of sub-Saharan countries failed tick in North African countries due to their lifestyles.

He said that beer drinking and clubbing was the main reason most of sub-Saharan African players failed to succeed in North African clubs.

“I’m confident that the young man will succeed at Csfaxien but he first has to adapt to the culture of that country,

“Why these boys fail is that they tend to get into beer drinking and clubbing when they get there,” said Malitoli

Malitoli said all that Musonda needed was discipline and focus at his new club.

Malitoli is one of the few celebrated sub-Saharan African players in Tunisia as he was honored by his former club Esperance during its centenary celebration early this year.

Some of the Zambian players that have had short stints in North Africa include 2012 AfCON winner Emmanuel Mayuka who played for Zamaleki in 2016, his compatriot Felix Katongo who played in Libya before the uprising in 2011.

Others are former Under-23 striker Patson Ngoma and former Zanaco striker Davies Mwape who both played for Egyptian clubs Ismaile and Zamaleki respectively.

Musonda was on Wednesday unveiled at Csfaxien after agreeing to a three-year contract with the club.

The player had been at Zanaco since 2016 having been promoted to the side from its junior ranks, Young Zanaco.

He helped the Under-20 lift the AfCON Cup with Zambia in 2017 and later was part of the team that participated at World Cup in South Korea.
