Brother kills brother after drinking spree

A BRAWL between brothers during a drinking spree in Lusaka’s Kalingalinga Township has ended in the death of one of them.
Raphael Tembo, 38 has allegedly been murdered by his own older brother identified as Edward Tembo, 46 both of Kalingalinga after a fight during a pub crawl.
The two brothers were actually living in the same house.
According to Police public relations officer Esther Katongo Edward hit the young brother with an iron bar after he suspected that he had stolen his money.
“It is alleged that the Raphael stole K780 from Edward and a fight ensued when the accused person returned from a drinking spree and in the process he picked up an iron bar and hit the victim, inflicting deep cuts on the head,” Ms Katongo said.
Ms Katongo said this occurred on July5, at around 23:46 hours in the same locality.
She said the suspect was detained in custody while the body of Raphael had been deposited in UTH mortuary awaiting postmortem.
