She said disputes in their marriage started in 2018, when she was got expecting her third child.
“My husband said the pregnancy wasn’t his. The baby was born and it was a boy. He denied the child saying the scan showed that it would be a girl. He wanted a baby girl,
“He started sleeping out and had a girlfriend but we sat down and the issue was resolved. However he never changed because he talks to his girlfriends in my presence. He tells me that he has lost interest in me,” she said.
Njobvu told the court that they had been living in her mother’s house for six years and that her husband has stopped paying rentals to her mother.
“He beats me and says he doesn’t want the children because they are all boys. One time we had a dispute he slapped me and I also hit him with a bottle,” she said.
In his defence, Lufungulo said his wife lacked respect and discipline.
He said his wife had on several occasions went to his work place and shouted at him.
“Her friends have a bad influence on her. She once poured water on me while I was sleeping on the bed. She also stabbed me with a knife on the shoulder during one of our disputes,” he said.
The court however managed to reconcile the couple and advised them to live in harmony.
