LUSAKA City Council Planning Authority (LCC PA) has with immediate effect stopped accepting hard copy applications for permissions to develop, subdivide/consolidate and change of land use.

LCC public relations manager George Sichimba said this follows the expiry of June 30, deadline which was set after launching the automation of the construction permitting system on  January 4, 2019 this year.

He said the local authority assigned six-month grace period to sensitize members of the public about the new service.

“This means that clients will from now on have to send soft copy applications online and monitor the progress in the same manner.

Mr Sichimba said feedback from council would also be given online including the fees to be paid which would be channeled through the banks or other payment platforms.

“This service is aimed at improving service delivery and it allows clients to monitor progress on the application from their comfort zones,” he said

He said clients were  encouraged to make use of the automated system (metro manager) which could be accessed on the main LCC website (https:www.lcc.gov.zm).

He however said those clients that may encounter any problems in the process of submitting applications online, were free to contact city planning department for assistance.
