THE Olympic Youth Development Centre (OYDC) organised Teulings Tournament attracted over 300 athletes taking part in netball and hockey.

The athletes who participated in the Teulings Youth Sports Challenge also underwent screening by health personnel at the centre.

The athletes underwent ear, nose and throat screening before the games began.

OYDC executive director Fredrick Chitangala said the screening was also extended to other athletes who had come to access the facility.

Chitangala said the centre had engaged different health specialists to ensure that athletes were in good health as they prepared to compete in various games.

In the netball category, Chazanga, OlympAfrica, Northpark and Chawama competed for the league game.

Hockey attracted teams such as Zambezi, DE Stars, Lusaka Sharks and Springfield all competing to get more points to top the log standing.

The Tuelings Youth Challenge is an organised league by the OYDC which comprise hockey, beach volley ball, netball taekwondo and netball.

The league which comes to an end in October having started in March, attracts various under-17 teams from around the OYDC and the surrounding neighbourhoods.
