PRESENCE of God Ministries International overseer and founder Apostle Christopher Kunda has congratulated President Edgar Lungu on being conferred with an honorary doctorate degree in good governance by the University of Zambia (UNZA).
Apostle Kunda said the honour was good news and a wakeup call at the same time.
He said it was time for the President and his administration to check themselves and see where they had not done well so that they could work on it.
“Challenges will always be here, but we cannot afford to oppose anything that comes out. This honour should be an eye opener because people will be monitoring how the country is run after this,” he said.
Apostle Kunda said there was no need to oppose everything that went on in the circles of the President’s life because a certain group of people did not like him.
He said the document received should also be a reflection of the past and ensure that the expectations of the Zambian people were met.
Apostle Kunda said people might receive the decision by UNZA with mixed feelings, but urged everyone not to always be quick to rush to oppose but try and weigh both sides.
The University of Zambia will confer President Edgar Lungu with an honorary doctorate degree in law for his exceptional leadership.
He was honoured for, among others, appointing Zambia’s first female vice president, Inonge Wina, and for his role in the enactment of the 2016 Constitution.
