Man stabbed to death

A 45-YEAR-OLD man of Shiwang’andu has died after being killed by his attackers who ripped opened his stomach with a knife, Muchinga Province Police Commissioner Joel Njase has confirmed.
Mr Njase said the incident happened between Tuesday at 22:00hrs and Wednesday at 03:00hrs at Kakokota Village in Chief Nkula’s area of Shiwang’andu district.
Police received a report to the effect that Gastone Mwila aged 45yrs of Kakokota village in Chief Nkula’s area has been stabbed to death using a knife by Edward Chisanga 53yrs of Mutole village.
Mr Njase said the body of the deceased was found in his house with a deep cut in the stomach and has been picked and deposited into Chinsali Hospital mortuary waiting for post-mortem.
He said the suspect has been apprehended and detained in police cells after being treated at the hospital as he was injured by villagers who apprehended him.
Meanwhile, a year old boy of Chinsota village in Chief Nkula’s area of Chinsali District is nursing wounds after been axed by his step father.
Mr Njase said the incident happened when the accused whose names are not yet known tried to axe the mother of the victim and accidentally axed his step son.
‘’We received report of unlawful wounding on 19/6/19 at 12:20 hrs from Mercy Mwenya aged 32 of Chinsonta on behalf of her son Alfredy Mwila aged 3 of the same abode that he was unlawfully wounded by his step father who’s names not known of the same address.’’ he said
He said victim sustained a deep cut on the left eye and that no arrest has been made.
Mr Njase said police have since instituted investigations into the matter.
