Beach Games envoy Chila upbeat

ZAMBIA’S sole representative at the ongoing Africa Beach Games in Cape Verde Cecil Chila is confident of having a good performance.

Beach ball free style player Chila told the Sun Sport in an interview that he was confident of reaching the top four of the competition at the ongoing games.

He said unlike last year’s tournament held in Nigeria, where he was knocked in the 16th round by eventual champion, he had prepared well for the games.

Chila said he had been doing the sport since 2012 and that he had been to a number of competition in the same competition with the last tournament being in Nigeria last year.

“I’m very much ready as I’m not nervous like I was last time in Nigeria as I was knocked out in the last 16 by the current champion,” he said.

My aim is to go as far as the top four of the competition.

Chila had been training from the Olympic Youth Development Centre OYD and left for Cape Verde on Wednesday evening.

He will be playing his games on June 15 and is the country’s only representation at the tournament which different beach sporting activities competing in various categories.
