Criminals invade Gwembe -this has unsettled MP Attractor Chisangano

THE increasing number of criminal activities in Gwembe’s Boondo ward of Southern Province has unsettled area Member of Parliament Attractor Chisangano.
Ms. Chisangano said told the Sun in a phone interview that she was fully aware of the situation in the area which required concerted efforts from everyone.
She said that the criminal activities were happening because of lack of a police post in the area, adding that there was need for quick action to restore sanity in the area.
She said that it was disappointing to note that nothing had been done so far to start construction of a police post despite engaging the ministry of Home Affairs.
“We are asking government to urgently construct a police post to curb crime that has been on the rise for some time now in the district. We cannot continue to have people being robbed in broad day light due to lack of security,” she said.
Ms. Chisangano said that the criminal dens in the area were a source of concern as people were killed like livestock and property stolen due to lack of police presence.
She noted with concern that Gwembe only had one ill -equipped police post which had failed to offer adequate security in the district.
An angry mob recently killed a gunman who had been terrorizing people in various criminal activities in Chisangano and surrounding areas.
