ZAMBIA looks forward to scooping the Zone 6 handball tournament which it will be hosting from June 11- 15, says Under-17 Zambia Hand Ball Association(ZHBA) national coach Sydney Moto.
Moto said his team was prepared for the tournament having started camp in November last year.
He told the Sun Sport that being the hosts of the tournament, his team was ready to win the trophy and make sure that it remained in Zambia.
He appealed to sports fans to troop in numbers and support his team which badly needed motivation.
“We have been preparing for this tournament since November. We broke camp because most of them are school going children, but we regrouped early this month and have been training since then,’’ he said.
He said that his team had done everything and that all was in place and just waiting for the tournament to start in two weeks’ time.
Moto appealed to the corporate world to partner with his association by sponsoring the teams help grow the sport.
“This sport is new, so we would want corporate institutions to come on board and support it so that it can spread to other provinces,’’ he said.
He said that the team only comprised of players from three provinces, Western, North Western and Southern Provinces.
The Zone 6 tournament will attract participation from 10 countries in which Zambia will be represented by two teams namely the under-17 and under 20 national teams respectively.
