Man ordered to pay K13, 000 for impregnating a girl

THE Matero Local Court has ordered a man of Zingalume to pay K13,000 for impregnating a girl and failing to support the child that was born afterwards.
Fanny Mphande 58, of Zingalume sued Albert Musabiti,25, of the same compound for damaging and impregnating her daughter last year.
The two were appearing before magistrate Pauline Newa.
“I told her to let Musabiti and his family knows but he said he was waiting for his uncle. In July they came and we agreed that they will pay K13,000 in August but to date they have not paid anything” said Mphande “.
In defence Musabiti told the court that he had not refused to pay.
“When the money is found I will pay, I used to support the baby but Mphande’s daughter blocked me so we have no communication, I will start paying in installments,” said Musabiti”.
The court proved the claim and ordered for the money to be paid in installments effective June 30.
