DIVISION 1 zone 2 side Konkola Blades will be looking forward to consolidating a place in next season’s inaugural National first Division after Wednesday one-nil win over Zesco Luapula FC played at Konkola Stadium.
Blades win over Zesco moved the Chililabombwe based side from 45 to 48 points on the FAZ division one Zone two log thereby consolidating their fourth position in the 16-team league.
Teams between second and fourth places qualify for the newly structured national first division which comes into effect in August.
Blades are already in the top four bracket but will have to battle for a place with three other teams First Quantum Operation FC, Chambishi FC, Nchanga Rangers as well as third placed Gomes FC who are one point better than Blades.
Blades have won 14 games, drawing 6 and losing 5 out of 25 played games with 5 more games to go before their fate is known in the league.
Blades who were demoted from the Super league at the end of the 2017 season, are already out of reach for a return to the elite league with pacesetter Kansanshi Dynamos and second placed Indeni FC now battling it out for the only spot to qualify to the newly restructured Super League.
A win for Blades against relegation threatened Ndola United will enhance their chances of securing a spot in the national first division at the expense of neighbours Nchanga Rangers who are six points behind on fifth position.
The rest of the fixtures in Division one zone two are as follows

Nchanga Rangers Vs ZNS Luamfumu
