The Boma Local Court has reconciled a couple in which a woman of Zingalume sued her husband for desertion due to disputes.

Abigail Tembo told Senior Local Court Magistrate Silvia Kabunda that she got married to Francis Sakala in 2012 and problems started there and then.

Tembo told the court that many times her husband was dishonest.

“Every time we differ, he would go and tell his relatives and change the story. He wouldn’t tell the situation as it happened which made me look bad most times,” she said.

She further said one time her husband took the kids to the bar and when she confronted him, it also brought problems between them.

She said there was no proper foundation in their marriage and just needed to start all over again through counseling.

But in defence Sakala told the court that they did not have big problems between them but that his mother in law always intervened in their issues.

“She takes charge of our marriage when my wife tells her anything that is going on in our house. We can’t solve anything between ourselves as husband and wife,” Sakala said.

He also said his wife was so inactive at home and he was the one who would wake up to bath the child before taking him to school while his wife remained in bed sleeping.

The court found that there were problems in the marriage.

The court also found that there was still love in the marriage but both parties did not know how to handle their issues.

The court reconciled the couple.
