THE Zambia national soccer team is to play international friendlies with three African countries that are preparing for next month’s Africa Cup of Nations championship to be held in Egypt.
FAZ general secretary Adrian Kashala said his association clinched three high profile international friendly matches against Morocco, Gambia and Cameroon.
Kashala said that the Royal Moroccan Football Federation will host the Chipolopolo Boys from June 6 – 17 and stage an international friendly match on June 16 against the Herve Renard drilled side.
During the same camp, Zambia will face Cameroon on June 9, 2019 in Madrid with another international friendly match against Gambia on June 12.
Morocco and Cameroon will be using the friendly matches to prepare for the 2019
Africa Cup of Nations to be played in Egypt from June 21 to July 19.
Kashala said the Moroccan invitation was part of the benefits accruing as a result of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between FAZ and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation.
“This is a huge step towards giving our team as much international exposure as possible by playing quality opposition,” he said.
Zambia will be preparing for the Cameroon 2020 CHAN qualifier against Botswana
in July while Morocco and Cameron are preparing for the 2019 AfCON.
