NDOLA-BASED Zambia Super League side Buildcon are one step into making history by qualifying to the CAF Confederations Cup for the first time in the club’s history.
The team was assembled only three years ago.
Buildcon inched closer to a CAF berth following their week 17 nil all draw against Nkana at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Sunday.
The draw handed the side some continental hope in a match which was intense, with one game left till the end of the season.
They will now be hoping to maximise on their last fixture away to Power Dynamos by at least getting a draw or win in order to realise their continental aspirations.
The draw against Nkana also handed leaders Green Eagles a spot in the CAF Champions League and also a place in the title decider match against the winners of stream A, who are yet to be decided.
Green Eagles have amassed 35 points and at this time no team can catch up with them as they travel to Lusaka in a last league fixture against Napsa Stars.
The draw away to Buidcon shattered Nkana’s hopes of playing continental football next season as the 12 time champions will now just have to play for formality and pride in their remaining last three fixtures.
Nkana host Forest Rangers on Wednesday before travelling to Lusaka for the last league game against Circuit City.
They have 23 points with the maximum they can go being 29, leaving Nkwazi and Buildcon to fight for the second position in week 18.
Nkwazi FC have 28 points and need to beat Lumwana away and hope Power defeat Buildcon at Arthur Davies Stadium this weekend.
