FORMER Zambian national soccer team striker Emmanuel Mayuka has moved to Green Buffaloes FC and Coach Biltone Musonda says he is a very good player who will add value to the Zambia Army sponsored side.

Speaking in an interview with the Sun Sport, Musonda said that his team signed 2012 Africa Cup of Nations Golden boot winner because he was a good player that would make a difference to his squad.

He said that Mayuka had been out of action for a long time but that insisted he was a very good player when at his full fitness level.
Mayuka played professional footballer who last played as a striker for Israeli club Hapoel Ra’anana and the Zambian national team, is most notable for being the top scorer in the African Cup of Nations 2012 tournament.

“Emmanuel hasn’t been playing for a long time but he is a good player if he comes back to his full fitness level and he can give a different dimension to my team,
“That’s why we have recruited him , that’s why he is coming into our books, he was not part of this game because he has a muscle injury which he suffered last time in training,” said Musonda

Meanwhile Musonda said that his team’s only target this season was to fight and avoid relegation as it had not been doing too well.
He said that Buffaloes remained with three games and it was more than clear that it should play hard to fight relegation and look forward to the next soccer season.

“Our target after I took over is to fight relegation and we see the way forward next season,’’ he said.
Buffaloes lost to Lusaka Dynamos on Sunday through a Hendrick Somaeb goal in the first minute of the game.

They remain in position 6 on the stream A log with 16 points with four games left to play in the Zambia super league.

Buffaloes next game will be against league title chasers Zanaco FC who will be going into this week 16 fixture after their humiliating home loss against fellow contenders Kabwe Warriors.
