UNIVERSAL Peace Federation (UPF) says the deaths of its Peace Council members Patricia Mwashingwele and Mike Mulongoti have left a gap in the organisation.

UPF secretary general Rodulf Faerber said in a statement the deaths of Ms Mwashingwele and Mr Mulongoti in the same week were a blow to the federation.

Reverend Faerber said the two politicians were committed members of the Peace Council and ambassadors for peace.
“UPF is mourning with both bereaved families as it joins the rest of the nation in sending its deepest heartfelt condolences to the families. UPF has put the two families in prayers as they pass through trying moments.

“By the time of their deaths, Ms Mwashingwele was also member of Parliament for Katuba Constituency while Mr Mulongoti was also president of the People’s Party.”
