ALL the 52 Satellite committees that have been spearheading the distribution of relief food in Sinda have been dissolved with immediate effect,   district Commissioner Paradias Sakala has announced.

Mr Sakala said there were a number of reasons that led to the Satellite committees to be dissolved   in 17 wards of Sinda and that, there was need for  new committees to be formed.

In an interview with the Sun, Mr Sakala said the Satellite committees have been dissolved because some had overstayed from the time committees were created adding that, there were also unverified reports of malpractices in the way distribution of relief food in the communities was done.

“We have dissolved all Satellite committees in Sinda district because they have overstayed as some have been there from the time the committees were created.

Mr Sakala added, “We have also received numerous reports that there has been suspected malpractice in the distribution of maize in some communities and we thought it prudent to dissolve and look for new people. We have communicated with the royal highnesses in the area.”

He said new committees would be constituted within this month and dates would be communicated so that fresh elections would be conducted.
