FAZ, fans mourn Muselepete

THE football fraternity has mourned Zambian soccer legend Godfrey Muselepete who died on Monday after an illness.

FAZ communication manager Mwazi Chanda said that Muselepete was a prolific winger for Nkana Football Club and contributed to high level performance in Zambia’s Super League in the 1980s and 90s.

Chanda said FAZ had   learnt with sadness of the passing on of Zambia international winger Muselepete.

She said his speed and ingenuity saw him feature for the Zambia national team and during his active career he also played with Nkwazi Football Club and Kalulushi Modern Stars.

 “Muselepete’s demise is a loss to the football fraternity and death has robbed the nation of a bastion of football talent,’’ she said.

“On behalf of Football Association of Zambia president Andrew Kamanga and staff, we wish to pass sincere condolences to the Muselepete family, Nkana Football club and the sporting community at large.
