A SOLWEZI housewife who laced her husband’s food with her menstrual blood has lost her marriage in a Solwezi Local Court.
The woman was however compensated with K20, 000.
Vivian Gilettee a mother of five children sued her former husband Sunday Musangu for not being a wife-deserving husband.
Magistrate Maureen Chindumba sitting with magistrate Jonathan Maluti were told by Gilettee that they had been married for 18 years until 2017 when Musangu started sleeping with any girl who gave him a chance.
“Muli aba abaume ninsangamo ukufilwa, ubuule nobu lalelaale bwacilamo. (I have given up on this man. He is womaniser and adulterer.)
“He just doesn’t leave a woman alone, the reason he left our house was because he had an affair with a girl called Christine who was in the same compound with us. Now he has Musole my neighbour who even comes to tell me that my husband is making business plans for her,” she said.
In cross examination Musangu said his wife was full of faults and he too wanted the marriage to end because he found her performing love portion rituals.
“I got home one day and found her putting her menstruation blood in the relish I was set to be given to eat, so I left home with disgust, I mean imagine for how long I’ve been eating such,” he said.
In passing judgment Magistrate Chindumba said it was sad that they lived a Godless life.
She said the role of families was to ensure love trust and respect was present in a marriage.
“Marriage is like a contract you choose to sign which you did in 2003, therefore for the time you have wasted for this woman, you will compensate her with a K20,000 and give her a K1,500 for child support for the children,” Magistrate Chindumba said.
Magistrate Chindumba told them to share the property acquired together equally.
