Non-working traffic lights irk motorists

MOTORISTS in Lusaka have complained over non-working traffic lights at various points in the city.
Drivers talked to by the Sun but refused to be named, cited traffic lights at the corner of Lumumba and Mungwi roads which had been out of service e for a long time.
“The traffic lights at the corner of Lumumba and Mungwi roads have not been operational for some time now yet they are import in preventing accidents,” he said.
Another driver also complained that the traffic lights at Zambian Breweries Junction on Mungwi Road had become totally unreliable because they were often off and on.
“We are now complaining to the relevant authority to take this matter seriously. Traffic light at the breweries junction are a big disappointment because most of the time they are not working,” he said.
Other drivers have also urged the contractor working on Mungwi and Lumumba roads to speed up the installation of traffic lights to avoid accidents.
