Fans pour water on vanquished Nkana

Zambia super league soccer fans have taken to social media expressing their displeasure over 12-time league champions Nkana’s exit from Africa’s second tier league championship, CAF Confederations Cup on Sunday evening.
A depleted Nkana side went into Sunday’s game against Tunisian Csfaxien carrying an advantage after beating the Tunisian side 2-1 in a first leg home game last Saturday.
Nkana went into the game missing key players among them Captain Walter Bwalya, midfielders Harrison Chisala and Fred Tshimenga.
But after the loss some soccer fans took to social media castigating the team for blowing a 2-1 advantage.
A Facebook user identified as Fee Phil posted on a Zambia super league group blaming Nkana coach Bestone Chambeshi’s tactics for Nkana’s poor away showing in the competition.
“Doing the same thing over and over but expecting a different result is a sign of madness, Modern football requires coaches to think not just to sit pa bench,’’
“We saw it happen ku Under-20 World Cup nalelo futi Nkana kicked out of the Confederation Cup.
Nkana have lost all away games in the confederation cup.. So they had no plan to win even a single game away,’’ he said .
Meanwhile a diehard Nkana soccer fan known on social site Whatsapp as “Lastone Likulu Nkana’’ described the loss as a “shambolic performance.
The Kitwe giants beat their own record of their last participation in the competition after being eliminated after the group stage side in 2014.
Nkana have had a bad away record in the competition this season having lost all their away games and recording only one goal in their 4-1 loss to Al Hillal of Sudan.
Nkana will now have to shift their attention to the domestic league where they have a number of games in hand and are currently in the relegation zone of stream B of the transitional league.
Qualification to next season’s Continental competition is slowly slipping out of sight for the Kitwe based team who have only accumulated 9 points out of 7 games and sits just above relegation bound FC Muza in stream B of the Zambia super league.
