THREE people have died, while nine were seriously injured in a road traffic accident involving a Toyota Hiace bus registration number AUB 761 on Senanga -Mongu road on Sunday.
The accident happened around 09: 00hours at a place called Situnga after the driver lost control and overturned.
Deputy Police spokesperson Rae Hamoonga told the Sun in a statement that the Toyota Hiace was being driven by 23-year old Mate Mate of Nanzala village, Chief Lyambango, Mongu district and was extensively damaged.
Mr Hammonga said one male passenger only identified as Abel of Mbuywana Stage Four Mongu died on the spot after sustaining head injuries and two other passengers died at Senenga hospital later.
He said one of those seriously injured sustained an amputated left arm and body injuries, multiple cuts on the head and bruised abdomen.
Mr Moonga said all the injured and the driver were admitted at Senenga district Hospital.
