ZAMBIA super league side NAPSA stars on Saturday ended their 5 game winless streak following their 2-0 win over Circuit City at Edwin Imboela stadium in Lusaka.
Burundian International striker Laudit Mavugo scored a brace and took his tally to 7 goals this season as NAPSA moved to sixth place on 14 points while Circuit City are in eighth place on 11 points.
Prior to Saturday’s win, NAPSA had gone on a 5 match winless streak culminating in 2 losses and three draws which saw the Club board calling for a meeting following a week 10 draw against Nkwazi to address the crisis.
A return to winning ways gave Napa’s Egyptian born coach Mohamed Father a sigh of relief having been previously given a two game ultimatum which ended in two draws last month.
Meanwhile Kabwe Warriors stretched their unbeaten run to 12 games this season by snatching a point away from home following their one all draw against champions ZESCO United in Ndola.
Warriors stretched their unbeaten run to 12 games this season and almost got their first win over ZESCO in Ndola since 2005 but a second half goal from former Warriors defender Marcel Kalonda helped ZESCO gain a point.
Warriors go second on 22 points while ZESCO are fourth on 20 points with a game in hand.
In Mazabuka , a Mike Katiba first half goal was all Green Buffaloes needed to move to 6th place on 13 points while the home side Nakambala Leopards moved down to 7th place on 12 points.
The rest of the results are as follows:
RED ARROWS 3-1 PRISON LEOPARDS
LUSAKA DYNAMOS 1-0 MUFULIRA WANDERERS
NKWAZI FC 1-0 POWER DYNAMOS
MWANA RADIANTS 0-1 BUILDCON FC
GREEN EAGLES 1-0 MUZA FC
