ZAMBIA Super League defending champions, Zesco United, has announced that it is interested in signing on two Asente Kotoko players who also featured in the group stages of the 2018/2019 edition of the Confederations Cup.
The Ghanian Club also confirmed on its website it was in talks with the Zesco United on the possible transfer of Emmanuel Gyamfi and Songne Yacoub.
The two players, who were instrumental in Asante Kotoko’s 2019 CAF campaign, attracted the attention of the Ndola-based side following their sparkling performance in the CAF Confederation Cup.
“We have agreed to open negotiations with Zesco United for players, Songne Yacouba and Emmanuel Gyamfi,” Asente Kotoko posted on its Facebook page.
Songne Yakouba, the Burkinabe import to Asente Kotoko, has reportedly also been sought after by various clubs, namely Orlando Pirates, Al Ahly, Al Hilal and Al Merreik.
Somgne was one of the outstanding players in Coach Charles Kwablan Akonnor’s team in the 2019 CAF Confederation Cup campaign, where he scored two goals and assisted to 5 in nine games.
Songne Yacouba last month also earned his fourth Burkinabe national team call-up by Coach Paulo Duarte in the team’s AFCON qualifier against Mauritania.
The 27-year-old marked his debut for the Stallions in an international friendly against Kazakhstan, which they drew 0-0 draw at the Ortaliq stadium on May 12, 2015.
Songne’s Club teammate , 25 year old Emmanuel Gyamfi, who has been instrumental in the central midfield role for his Club, has earned himself some interest from the Zambian champions Zesco United.
Zesco United are looking to reinforce its squad as it prepares for the 2019/2020 CAF Champions League which they appear tipped to qualify having already clinched a top four slot in the Stream A of the 2019 Zambia Super League.
