Emergency water supply project on course – LWSC

THE Lusaka Water and Sewerage Company (LWSC) has announced that implementation of its K150million water supply network project in Lusaka’s Kanyama Compound had reached advanced stage.
Project manager Mr Wycliffe Kunda said the project had so far covered 30 kilometres of the target 250 kilometre water supply network in the Cholera prone area.
Mr Kunda told The Sun in Kanyama yesterday that the project would cover Kanyama Compound, Chawama Compound, Garden House area, Chipata Compound and Chunga Compound.
“The aim of the project is increase safe water supply to the people in these areas where Cholera cases are usually high,” said Mr Kunda.
The project manager said China Civil was undertaking the project which started last year.
He was hopeful that the project would be completed by next year.
