Man who loved insulting wife sued

A GEORGE Compound man who loves insulting his wife has been dragged to Matero Local Court for arbitration.
Matilda Bwalya, 33, of George compound sued her husband Kafunga Bwalya who works at Inter-city Bus station in Lusaka from gross misunderstanding in the marriage.
She told magistrate Harriet Mulenga sitting with Pauline Newa that they got married in 2010 and do not have children.
“We used to stay well until 2012 when I lost my pregnancy; he later got sick and started fitting, every hour he would get sick. In December 2015 I attended a cousin’s funeral and when I came back late and he started insulting me saying I made him sick because I was barren, “Whenever we quarreled he would accuse me of being a barren woman, and threatened to find another woman that will give him profit. He says I force myself on him. He once insulted me in front of my child who I had before we got married that my vagina is watery. He gives me K20 every day for food and when I ask for more he says I love money.
In defence Kafunga told the court that they troubled each other a lot because Matilda and her family usually insulted him and was not free.
Matilda tells me that she would rather drink beer than cook for me, when she cooks the relish is usually burnt. I sweep our yard because she does not want to do so. I am also the one that makes the bed,” said Kafunga
The court however advised the two to go back home and see how they would live together
“You have been reconciled do your household chores and cook good food. Do not compare her to other women show her respect which is needed in marriage,” said magistrate Mulenga.She advised the couple to report to the court on May 2 for further action.
