Tuelings championships return to OYDC

The Tuelings Youth Challenge returns next weekend at the Olympic Youth Development Center (OYDC), center director Fredrick Chitangala has said.
Speaking in an interview with The Sun,
Chitangala said the competition had delayed due to logistics challenges but said the center was now set for another exciting Tuelings season.
He said the sports challenge was initially scheduled to resume last month on February 23.
Chitangala called on the youths to make use of OYDC and take part in the many sports disciplines under Tuelings.
Recently, OYDC signed a two year sponsorship deal with Merifin Capital of Belgium amounting to US$ 200, 000 for the Teulings Youth Sports Challenge.
The challenge was initiated in 2011 with competition in basketball, football, tennis, hockey, and volleyball and support academy sport.
Chitangala, said the sponsorship deal includes swimming, netball, taekwondo, hockey and beach volleyball as some of the sports disciplines which young talented athletes would be competing in.
Since inception, the sport challenge had been supported by Coen Teulings.
Chitangala paid homage to Teulings for having supported the centre which had benefited over 3,386 athletes in the last eight years.
Last year OYDC hosted the 8th edition of the Teulings Youth Sports Challenge with top deserving athletes, teams, coaches, umpires, and sports administrators being awarded with trophies and medals.
The Teulings Youth Sport Challenge was established to cater for athletes aged between 10 and 18 from different parts of Zambia.
