NKANA Football Club midfield Chisamba Lungu will miss out on ‘Kalampa’s games for the next 6 months to recuperate from an injury he picked up in last Sunday’s 3-0 win over ZESCO United at Nkana stadium.

Both Nkana chief executive officer Chakatazya and team doctor Gibson Mambwe confirmed the development to the Sun sports in an interview that the player would be out of action for at least six months.

Chakatazya said that the 2012 AfCON winning midfielder was expected out of hospital on Tuesday but his leg was now in Plaster of Paris (POP) and the player will be aided by clutches.

And team manager Gibson Mambwe said that the player sustained a fracture, adding that the application of the POP was expected to quickly help with the healing process.

”Chisamba sustained a fracture and this morning ( Monday) he went for an application of pop which was successful and we expect him to be discharged tomorrow (Tuesday). He will be on clutches for the next 4-6 months,” he said.

Chisamba Lungu was Nkana’s second half substitute after he came on in the 55th minute to replace Fred Tshimenga but could however not last more than a minute on the pitch as he injured himself while in possession of the ball and was immediately stretched off to be replaced by midfield Harrison Chisala.

The midfield who joined Nkana at the beginning of the season has been subject of debate among Nkana fans who have been protesting the player’s continued absence from the team having only featured in two games since his surprise transfer to Nkana.

However Nkana coach Beston Chambeshi was quoted in the media having said that the player had been injured and that was the reason why he had been missing from the team.

Chisamba returned to Zambia in 2017 to join Ndola based Buildcon but could however not see enough game time as he got injured in early 2018 season keeping him away for almost an entire season.
